Well, first of all, thank you for creating this opportunity!

I would like to suggest changing the description in the 'non-fiction' section, because (if I am not mistaken) it is the same as the description in the 'fiction' section.

@ahinsa Thank you for your suggestion. We are also reconsidering removing or adding sub-forums to improve the user experience. If you think we have missed any categories, please share your thoughts with us 😀

Thanks for this excellent initiative.
I’d like to suggest that you add a subcategory for “most popular books this month “ or something similar so there will be more attraction there.

You can also have a section where we’re able to see who likes our favorite books and the ability to exchange book ideas with them. The whole basis for social media is to find and connect with like-minded people. You can use the same principle in this book platform

@hasara-jay Thank you for the great suggestion! We will definitely work on that. Additionally, we already have an option to see who likes your discussion on a particular topic you started on the forum.

Hi, If you can mention the main purpose of having a digital book club, it will be helpful for us to give some suggestions in that line.

@hellodilinika First of all, I would like to thank you for giving some valuable feedback on the user registration process. At Sarasavi, Sri Lanka's biggest bookshop chain with 32 branches island-wide, we're all about setting the pace in everything book-related. the main purpose of this project is to make reading more enjoyable for book lovers through a dedicated digital book club. Unlike Facebook groups with all their distractions, our platform is tailor-made for deep, focused discussions. By bringing readers together from across the island, we want to spark meaningful conversations and host branch meetups for a richer community vibe. Simply put, we're creating a cool space where bookworms can connect, chat, and dive deep into their favorite reads.

Hi, Some great ideas here already 🙂
what about space for a community blog? where you talk about things related to books other than reading them? for example, electronics/gadgets to improve your reading experience, best places to read, reading and health related issues, etc.

@akeela Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, we can open a dedicated sub-forum for discussions related to topics like reading habits, preferred reading spots, and more. We are also planning to launch a blog on our main website where any worthwhile discussions from the book club here will be posted and shared on social media.

Hello everyone. First I’m so happy to join this forum and share ideas and thoughts regarding books.
I would like to suggest that if you can expand the categories more, like the fiction section can be broken down in to YA, science fiction, romance, thriller, mystery, fantasy, horror and many more.
And as a leading book store in Sri Lanka if you can allow a few chapters of the books to be shared as an ebook format it can gain more readers as well. Personally I can never be satisfied with just reading a few chapters. So I would definitely want to find and read whole book ASAP. 😀

Also if the authors of the books can also join the discussions and share their insights on what it was like to create such amazing worlds in their minds and how the readers have also created their own versions and theories on why something occurred in those particular books.

@nshezmin thank you for your excellent suggestions!

Regarding the expansion of categories:

We are planning to introduce a feature called "topic prefix" in our next development phase. This will allow for a more user-friendly way to navigate sub-categories without consuming excessive server resources, ensuring a smooth user experience. We'll keep you updated once this feature is implemented.

Regarding eBooks:

Concurrently, we are developing an online eBook store where you'll be able to purchase eBooks at a fraction of their printed cost. We agree that previewing a few chapters can significantly pique readers' curiosity and encourage them to explore the full book. This enhancement will be incorporated into our timeline. Thank you for this valuable suggestion.

Author Engagement:

We have a dedicated forum for author Q&A sessions and plan to invite authors to join our book club, distinguishing them with a special author badge. Furthermore, we're organizing author meetups alongside book club gatherings to foster meaningful discussions among like-minded individuals. Stay tuned for updates on these exciting initiatives! 😉

May we know how these book discussions take place? Like I’m assuming the admin would suggest a book for each section and a specific date and time for it to take place and the members who has read it or interested will join the discussion.
Will this be done chapter by chapter or a few chapters at once or the whole book together?

And how can the participants be prepared for it? Like should they read the content beforehand and or will there be a reader online? What about books that were read so many times. Will there be spoilers for new readers?
